BEASTIE

NON-BINARY AS A GENRE: INDIE- ART-DANCE-PUNK

📍 VANCOUVER, BC

ABOUT:"The Buzzcocks meet Joni Mitchell and Hank Williams but make it queer..."Beastie is a genre-fluid band built on the refusal of the binary — musically and personally. Blending punk urgency, disco rhythm, country storytelling, and grunge rawness, the Vancouver-based project creates a sound and live show that is praised for both it’s uniqueness and it's wild, scene-spanning chameleon like qualities.Known for their interactive performances, Potato Spider mascot and fearless vulnerability, Beastie creates an experience where human imperfection, catharsis, and connection are celebrated center stage.

“I’m following you now and I’m completely obsessed. You’ve totally got a fan.”
— Madame Rabbit, Vancouver-based professional dominatrix

“Beastie is a powerhouse of playful, artsy queers loaded to the brim with vibrant punk energy. They bring the giddyup to every stage they play on, and it’s a thrill to be along for the ride!”
— Autumn Cairns, performance artist & producer, Collective Disorder

Fronted by a lifelong songwriter who stepped away from singing for seven years due to vocal injury, Charlie Dangerface marks a powerful return to music as a band at 40—one rooted in lived experience with disability, neurodivergence, and gender diversity. Backed by seasoned Vancouver musicians (with roots in projects like High Society, Doom Loops, M.O.B.S and Babyface Brass), the band brings both technical depth and emotional immediacy to the stage.

"Vulnerability never sounded so badass!" --- Shirley Gnome, Country Singer & Comedian

At its core, Beastie is a manifesto: rejecting binaries in all forms. The performances embrace risk, fallibility, and participation—Whether that means addressing invisible disability with humor and grief as it suddenly shuts down a song live, or turning a set into an interactive game, dance party and mosh pit all at the same time. The result is a show that feels alive, human, and deeply connected. With growing momentum in Vancouver’s queer arts scene and an expanding regional presence, Beastie is entering a new phase—bringing their boundary-breaking performances to wider audiences.
